The Challenge
The client's Bubble app was crashing under the load of 5,000 concurrent users. Database lookups were taking 3+ seconds, resulting in lost sales and frustrated customers.
Our Approach
We designed a phased migration strategy to move critical components to a custom stack while keeping non-critical features on Bubble initially.
Phase 1: Database Replication
We set up a refined PostgreSQL database and synced it with Bubble to offload read-heavy operations.
Phase 2: Frontend Rebuild
We rebuilt the customer-facing storefront using Next.js for sub-second page loads and better SEO.
The Results
The new platform handles 50k+ users with ease. Server costs dropped from $3,500/mo to $1,200/mo.
